Okamura Corporation (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa; President: Masayuki Nakamura) exhibited at Asia's largest workplace trade show, 'ORGATEC TOKYO 2026' (held June 2-4, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight), and won the Grand Prix at the 'ORGATEC TOKYO Awards.'

The 'ORGATEC TOKYO Awards' recognize booths with high design quality that embody the theme of 'SHIFT DESIGN.' Okamura also received the 'Exhibitor's Choice Best Booth Award.'

Under the concept of 'Blending and Connecting,' the Okamura booth was entirely composed of the blending furniture series 'YAA.' The exhibition featured the catchphrase 'Ya, Ya, Ya' (the Japanese equivalent of 'Hi' or 'Hey'), which serves as a trigger for conversation. Through 'YAA,' which connects people by creating comfortable boundaries, the company proposed a space where visitors could discover new ways of working.

To address challenges in modern offices, such as decreased conversation and the anxiety of being watched in open or free-address spaces, Okamura introduced hints for creating places where people can blend and connect naturally. This includes mechanisms for spontaneous interaction and distances that make it easy to call out to one another.

The booth design was inspired by the scenery of overlapping mountain ridges, utilizing 'YAA' to create beautiful organic curves and overlapping panels. Lighting on the top and bottom of the panels highlighted the unique aesthetic shape.

Key evaluation points for the Grand Prix included the gentle boundaries created by the curves and straight lines of 'YAA,' the sense of spontaneous communication felt while walking through the booth, and the entertaining experience of communication using traditional fans (uchiwa).

Okamura will continue to propose new workplace models from its unique perspective.
