◆ Overview
Okayama University, National University Corporation (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Yasutomo Nasu) hosted the 3rd 'AI-HPC Partners' meeting at the 2nd-floor conference room of the Tsushima Campus 50th Anniversary Memorial Hall, following the successful 2nd meeting.
'AI-HPC Partners' is a research hub established to bring together researchers and technical staff interested in AI, High Performance Computing (HPC), and data-driven computing, aiming to share expertise and foster collaborative research. This event was co-organized with the Cypher Division of the AI and Mathematical Data Science Center (Angels), and simultaneously held as 'Okayama University Research Fusion Lounge 2026 Spring.' Approximately 30 participants, including faculty, staff, students, URAs, and coordinators (industry-academia collaboration and academic research), attended and engaged in diverse presentations and active discussions.
The session began with 【Cloud Use Case Introductions】, featuring presentations on research applications of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud, along with an explanation of internal data integration initiatives. This facilitated the sharing of practical know-how and potential applications of cloud technologies in research.
Midway through, the 【Research Presentations】 showcased cutting-edge insights from different fields—engineering, economics, and medicine—highlighting interdisciplinary advancements.
In the latter half, the 【Research Poster Presentations】 featured posters from researchers across various university departments, creating a vibrant platform for cross-disciplinary exchange. A networking reception followed the event, enabling discussions on technical challenges, career development, and fostering further interdisciplinary dialogue and network building.
Okayama University will continue to promote research support and interdisciplinary integration through 'AI-HPC Partners' and inter-departmental collaboration, contributing to enhanced research capabilities and innovation. Please stay tuned for future activities. We appreciate your continued support for Okayama University, an open, regionally central, and distinctive research university.
