Orient Corporation (Orico) (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Makoto Umemiya) announced that it has been selected as a 'Supplier Engagement Leader' for the second consecutive year in the 2025 'Supplier Engagement Rating' conducted by CDP, an international non-governmental organization (NGO).
The Supplier Engagement Rating evaluates companies based on their responses to the CDP Climate Change questionnaire, focusing on 'Governance,' 'Targets,' 'Scope 3 Emissions,' and 'Value Chain Engagement.' Companies that achieve the highest rating are recognized as Supplier Engagement Leaders.
Under its 'Environmental Basic Policy' and 'Sustainability-Considered Procurement Policy,' Orico is actively working to reduce GHG emissions throughout its supply chain.
In fiscal year 2025, the company newly calculated its contribution to GHG emission reduction through its individual auto-leasing business, further promoting initiatives to lower environmental impact.
Orico positions 'Sustainability' at the top of its management hierarchy, aiming to achieve both social and corporate value. Toward the realization of its vision for society 10 years from now, the company has set 'Contribution to a Circular and Decarbonized Society' as one of its materialities. Orico remains committed to reducing environmental impact through both its overall supply chain and its core business activities.
