Ohtori Fukushikai Social Welfare Corporation (Nishi-ku, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, http://www.otorifukushikai.or.jp/, Chairman Tetsuya Yamamoto) endorses April Dream, an initiative to make April 1st a day for sharing dreams. This press release represents the dream of "Ohtori Fukushikai Social Welfare Corporation." We are announcing our dream to "eliminate 'lifting care' from Japan and restore physical freedom to the elderly."
Why we make "no-lifting" our mission
Currently, it is said that approximately 80% of caregivers in Japan suffer from back pain. However,
No-lifting care ensures safe and secure care for both users and staff.
Various care lifts according to ADL (Activities of Daily Living)
The true tragedy does not stop there. "Lifting and dragging" care creates a negative loop that stiffens the muscles of the elderly (contracture), leading to a further decline in ADL (Activities of Daily Living).
We declare: "Let's put an end to care that relies on brute force."
Realizing the Dream: The "Magical Change" Brought by No-Lifting Care
The "no-lifting care" promoted by Ohtori Fukushikai is not just about introducing equipment. By appropriately using welfare equipment and leveraging natural human movements, we will realize the following future:
Liberation of the elderly from "contracture"
Care that does not apply undue force allows stiff joints to loosen, enabling them to eat with their own hands again and smile. We will make such "physical miracles" a daily reality.
Transforming caregiving into an "aspirational profession"
We will make the "3K's" (Kitsui - demanding, Kitanai - dirty, Kiken - dangerous) a thing of the past, redefining caregiving as a creative profession that utilizes specialized knowledge.
Beyond "safety and security"
Eliminating care accidents is a given. We will make care that protects "dignity" the standard in Japan.
