Pal System Tokyo (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku Okubo, Chairperson: Yoko Nishimura) will be accepting applications for its 2026 Citizen Activity Grant Fund from July 1 (Wed) to July 31 (Fri). The surplus generated from the provision of products and services will be utilized to provide financial support to citizen groups working towards a society and global environment where everyone can live with peace of mind.

The results report meeting for the 2025 grant recipients will be held online on July 11 (Sat) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Over 130 Million Yen Provided for Community Development

The total grant amount for the 2026 Pal System Tokyo Citizen Activity Grant Fund is planned to be 5 million yen. Depending on the scale of the organization and the funds required for their activities, applicants can choose between two courses: up to 500,000 yen or up to 100,000 yen. Citizen groups whose main area of activity is within Tokyo are eligible, and the funds can be used for purchasing necessary items for their grant projects. A characteristic of this grant system is its broader scope of use compared to general grant programs, allowing funds to be used for operational expenses and personnel costs.

The fund aims to contribute to building a better society through the power of cooperation by providing financial support to organizations addressing local issues that are difficult for consumer cooperatives to reach, and by expanding their networks.

We support organizations that work closely with people from diverse backgrounds, such as those supporting communication for foreigners living in Japan and those creating community spaces utilizing vacant houses. Since its launch in 1998, a total of 130.45 million yen has been granted to 330 organizations by the end of fiscal year 2025.

11 Grant Recipients to Report on Activities

On July 11 (Sat), the "2025 Citizen Activity Grant Fund Results Report Meeting" will be held online. Eleven organizations that received grants in fiscal year 2025 will report on their activities, how the grant funds were used, and their future activity plans. By sharing the local issues each organization addresses, participants can learn from each other's problem-solving methods and activities, and expand their network of collaboration.
