Takumi Sosei Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Ryohiko Yasumura), a member of the Pasona Group, will begin advance reservations for its new product, "Koshu no Bishu Koshu Highball 1998," from the premium brand of long-aged sake "Koshu no Bishu (Inishie no Bishu)," on the crowdfunding service "Makuake" starting July 15 (Wed), ahead of its general release in October. This product is a highball can made with aged sake brewed in 1998. By leveraging the profound flavor of 28-year aged sake while creating a light mouthfeel with carbonation, it proposes a new way to enjoy long-aged sake.

Takumi Sosei has been developing "Koshu no Bishu," a long-aged sake brand with a quality standard of over 10 years of aging, since June 2020, working to expand awareness of long-aged sake and create new value in SAKE culture. In November 2023, they also opened "Nihon no Koshu Gura," Japan's first sake brewery specializing in aged sake, in Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture, and are working on new product development.

Now, as a new drinking style that allows people to enjoy long-aged sake more casually, they have developed the new product "Aged Sake x Highball." The base sake, "Koshu no Bishu 1998," has a mellow flavor reminiscent of honey and barrel aging, with a smooth mouthfeel and a pleasant bitterness that lingers. By diluting this aged flavor with carbonation, it creates a light and refreshing drink that is easy for those unfamiliar with aged sake to enjoy.

Furthermore, the package design features "Choju-giga" (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals), a National Treasure transmitted to Kōzan-ji Temple in Takao, Kyoto, which is said to be "Japan's oldest manga"※. This product embodies the concept of "value nurtured by time," combining traditional culture passed down through long periods with aged sake perfected through 28 years of aging. It visually expresses the weight of history and its story, making it a suitable gift for loved ones to enjoy the flow of time and deep flavor.

Moving forward, Takumi Sosei aims to create new sake categories through the development of new long-aged sake products under the theme of "Tradition and Innovation," contributing to the revitalization of the Japanese sake market and the promotion of aged sake culture.

※ Formal permission to use "Choju-giga" was obtained from Kōzan-ji Temple in Kyoto.
