Exhibiting at Techno Frontier 2026

Patentix Inc. (Headquarters: Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, President and CEO: Toyosuke Ibi, hereinafter "Patentix") will exhibit at the "Techno Frontier 2026 Power Electronics Technology Exhibition" held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 15 (Wed) to 17 (Fri), 2026. This exhibition will bring together technologies related to power devices, electronic components, modules, applied equipment, and design/manufacturing.

At Patentix, we will introduce our development status concerning rutile-type germanium dioxide (r-GeO2), a next-generation power semiconductor material, and display the world's first 6-inch GeO2 on Si substrate samples.

In recent years, the rapid spread of generative AI has created a dilemma for data centers, facing the conflicting issues of enormous power consumption and the immense heat generated by it. To reduce power conversion loss, development is progressing to increase the power supply voltage to server racks (DC800V), requiring higher breakdown voltage and further improved efficiency for power semiconductors used in power circuits. Against this backdrop, while wide bandgap semiconductors such as SiC devices and GaN devices are becoming more widespread in data centers, expectations are also rising for new semiconductor materials.

At Techno Frontier, under the theme of "Social Implementation of Rutile-Type Germanium Dioxide as a Next-Generation Power Semiconductor Material," we will broadly exhibit the potential and advantages of the material. In particular, the display of the 6-inch GeO2 on Si substrate will be a "world first," and we hope many people will come to see our development status. Furthermore, we plan to exhibit device samples (provided by Shima Electronics) with GeO2 chips implemented in TO247 packages. We will also introduce our future development plans.
