[Study in the UK] Continued High Interest in British Boarding Schools

Pippa's Guardians (Location: Worcestershire, UK; Representative: Ben Hughes) successfully concluded the 'British Boarding School Fair March 2026 (BBSFJ)' held at the Akasaka Intercity Conference on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with 178 attendees from 80 families.

Despite concerns over the UK's political situation, exchange rates, and international affairs, there is a growing trend among those seeking authentic study abroad experiences in the UK. While this BBSFJ was more compact than the previous October event, the attendees were highly serious, leading to deeper and more meaningful dialogues at the venue.

Changes in Attendees: A notable change was the depth of understanding among attendees. More families are well-versed in the UK education system, with many asking specific questions about A-levels and GCSEs. The shift from mere 'information gathering' to 'concrete preparation for enrollment' was a major characteristic. Furthermore, the English proficiency of the children was impressive, with more students conversing directly with school representatives in English.

Positive Feedback from Participating Schools: Representatives from the 15 participating boarding schools noted that the level of understanding among attendees has increased year by year. They also observed that Japanese students are better prepared than ever before.

Seminars: The event featured seminars by Ben Hughes and guest speakers from Downe House School and Uppingham School, covering topics such as the advantages of prep school education, A-level strategies, and the balance between academics and extracurricular activities in top-tier boarding schools.
