Planet Inc. released the results of an awareness survey on purchasing over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, targeting 4,000 people. The most common OTC medicines kept at home are antipyretics/analgesics (48.3%) and cold medicines (45.8%). Most respondents purchase medicine about once every six months, typically spending between 1,000 and 2,000 yen annually. Drugstores dominate as the purchase location (92.7%), though online shopping is growing, especially among people in their 20s and 30s. When choosing a product, 47.1% prefer buying medicines they have used before, highlighting strong brand loyalty.
