What is Fantasy Science (Kuso Kagaku)

In the worlds of manga, anime, and games, people fly through the sky, destroy concrete with bare hands, and instantly grow into giants—such events are depicted as "normal." However, "Fantasy Science" seriously examines the questions of the entertainment world through a scientific lens, asking "Is that really possible?" and "What would happen if it were real?"

What 'Kuso Kagaku Academia' Aimed For

In addition to the traditional appeal of the series—the fun of scientifically considering the "why?" of entertainment works—this series digs deeper and carefully explains the way of thinking and procedures of scientific investigation itself. For this purpose, we aimed for a structure that is easy to understand and provides a sense of achievement in knowledge acquisition by focusing on explaining only one scientific concept per theme.

For example, diamond is treated as one of the strongest materials in the world of "Minecraft." From the perspective of "Does hard equal strong?" and "What kind of 'strength' is needed for armor?", we conduct repeated verifications while substituting multiple conditions such as density, melting point, and how it breaks. By learning about the physical properties of matter through this theme, readers can see how the game world differs from reality, where it is the same, and why it "had to be made that way."

Three Main Features of the Page Structure

The structure is designed with a focus on visual enjoyment and ease of understanding.
