Fukujuen Co., Ltd. (President: Masaoki Fukui) and JR West Kyoto SC Development Co., Ltd. (President: Takutoshi Morimoto) are collaborating to hold the Japanese tea season event 'Shincha no Furumai' for the first time at Kyoto Porta (B1F West Area, Porta Plaza) for 6 days only. The event runs May 26 (Tue) through May 31 (Sun) 2026, 11:00-20:30 daily. Five programs are offered: (1) Complimentary tea tasting - compare hot and cold first-harvest new tea; (2) Kyusu brewing experience - daily first-come tickets, learning how temperature and steeping time affect flavor; (3) Japanese Tea Gallery - poster panels on tea leaf selection and storage; (4) Product sales - Fukujuen's 'Omoiyari Kyusu' teapot (11,000 yen incl. tax), 'Uji Shincha Honoka 50g' (2,160 yen); Saryo FUKUCHA's 'FUKUCHA Horoku Set' (22,220 yen), 'Financier Uji Matcha 5-pc' (1,350 yen); (5) Product exhibition by partner stores including Akomeya Tokyo, KEYUCA, Ogaki Shoten, Kumazawa Shoten. Fukujuen was founded in 1790 (Kansei 2) and has over 236 years of tea-making heritage in Kyoto.
