Announcement of "Jomon Culture Day in Oshima 2026" to Commemorate the 5th Anniversary of Jomon World Heritage Registration

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Jomon World Heritage registration. To commemorate this, July 26th has been designated as "Jomon Culture Day in Oshima." Related organizations and groups will collaborate to implement initiatives aimed at allowing local residents and visitors to Oshima to experience the charm of "Oshima Jomon."

Implementation Details

(1) Hakodate Jomon Culture Exchange Center <Opening Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM>

- Admission is free on July 26th. Jomon goods will be distributed (first 100 visitors). - Special Exhibition "Jomon World Heritage and Minamikayabe" will be held (July 25 - October 29). - "Registration 5th Anniversary Forum in Oshima" will be held (July 26, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM).

(2) Mori Town Archaeological Research Office <Opening Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM>

- On July 26th, the first 100 visitors will receive an squid-shaped earthenware strap as a gift!

(3) Sale of "Jomon Can Pass" One-Day Bus Pass

- Available from Saturday, July 25th to Sunday, October 4th. - This pass allows boarding and alighting at bus stops nearest to Jomon sites. - "Jomon Can Pass" will be sold. - [Sales Price] Adults: 2,000 yen, Children: 1,000 yen. - "Hollow Jomon Figure Bento Box" will be available for pre-order on July 26th only. - [Sales Price] 1,200 yen (tax included). - Reservations required by 5:00 PM on July 21st.
