Call for Developers to Improve Care Robots to Solve Nursing Care Challenges

Kanagawa Prefecture is promoting the practical use, dissemination, and utilization of daily life support robots through initiatives such as the 'Sagami Robot Industry Special Zone.' We are now announcing a call for developers to improve care robots to solve challenges in nursing care facilities.

1. Overview of Recruitment (1) Target Applicants: Companies that improve their own already-commercialized care robots to solve challenges in home-care facilities within the prefecture. (2) Application Period: May 26, 2026 (Tuesday) to June 26, 2026 (Friday). (3) Selection of Development Companies: Scheduled from late June to early July 2026. Selected through presentation review by a committee of external experts. (If applications exceed 10, a preliminary review will be conducted.) (4) Recruitment Details: We are seeking developers to improve care robots to solve challenges in local home-care facilities and conduct effectiveness verification at these sites. Applicants must secure the home-care facility for verification themselves before applying.

2. Number of Recruits: 5 (One application (project) per company.)

3. Support from the Prefecture: The prefecture provides up to 7.5 million yen (tax included) to cover part of the expenses for robot improvement and effectiveness verification.
