Saitama Prefecture established the 'Saitama Sustainable Company Certification System' last fiscal year to promote sustainable management among small and medium-sized enterprises within the prefecture and realize 'Saitama, the most livable place in Japan.' This system certifies companies that are engaged in high-level sustainable management with a 10-20 year outlook. This time, out of 42 applicants, 7 companies have been selected for certification, and an award ceremony will be held for them. The certified companies, all receiving Gold certification, are: Ito Tekko Co., Ltd. (Kawaguchi City), Ogawa Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Gyoda City), Seiko Advance Co., Ltd. (Hasuda City), Nisaku Co., Ltd. (Saitama City), Yashima Denkyo Co., Ltd. (Saitama City), Furugori Kensetsu Co., Ltd. (Fukaya City), and Wako Shiki Co., Ltd. (Kawaguchi City). There were no Platinum certified companies this time. The award ceremony will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Governor's Official Residence Conference Room (4-11-8 Tokiwa, Urawa-ku, Saitama City). Attendees will include representatives from each certified company and Saitama Prefecture Governor Motohiro Ohno. The ceremony will include a greeting from the Governor, presentation of certificates, a commemorative photo, and a greeting from a representative certified company. The certification system aims to enhance the credibility of companies, attract and retain talent, and improve corporate visibility through active promotion by the prefecture. Certification is valid for three years and requires meeting certain standards across 20 assessment items (200 points total), with 160 points or more for Platinum and 120 points or more for Gold. Assessment items are based on disclosure standards applicable to TSE Prime listed companies, covering general (economic/social) and environmental fields. The process involves application submission, document review, on-site inspection, and review by an expert committee.
