Tottori Prefecture is producing promotional videos featuring actor Yuno Nagao to widely communicate the appeal of 'Daisen Broccoli,' which became a nationally designated vegetable on April 1 and is the only one in Japan with Geographical Indication (GI) registration. The videos will be released sequentially on YouTube.
The first video will be released on Friday, May 22, 2026, and the second on Friday, May 29. Yuno Nagao will visit the production sites of Daisen Broccoli and introduce the secrets behind its delicious taste and how to enjoy it at home in an accessible way.
Daisen Broccoli is Tottori Prefecture's representative agricultural product, highly acclaimed for cultivation utilizing the volcanic soil at the foot of Mt. Daisen, rich flavor, strict quality control, and freshness preservation efforts.
Following broccoli's designation as a national vegetable on April 1, Tottori has been promoting the value of Daisen Broccoli both inside and outside the prefecture. This video release aims to further broaden these efforts and make Daisen Broccoli feel more familiar to a wide range of generations.
The content consists of two parts: the first focuses on the production site and fields, highlighting the charm of the farming process, while the second introduces simple recipes and methods to enjoy the product at home.

About Daisen Broccoli Daisen Broccoli is registered under the GI system and produced at the foot of Mt. Daisen in the towns and cities of Tottori Prefecture (Daisen-cho, Hiezu-son, Nanbu-cho, Hoki-cho, Nichinan-cho, Hino-cho, Kofu-cho, and Yonago-shi).
Cultivated in the fertile volcanic soil at the foot of Mt. Daisen, Daisen Broccoli is characterized by its strong sweetness and tenderness. Leveraging a climate with an average temperature of approximately 15°C and a diurnal temperature difference of about 8°C, a stable shipment system for 10 months of the year (excluding summer) has been established.
