The world’s largest independent hotel brand, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, is introducing a newly curated 'Business with Balance' hotel pairing for business travelers. This pairing combines member hotels located in the heart of major business cities with independent resorts, wellness retreats, or nature-rich suburban destinations, enabling a seamless transition from weekday work to weekend experiences.
As the boundary between business and leisure continues to blur, travelers are seeking ways to make better use of their time during business trips. According to Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ 'Luxury Travel Report,' luxury travelers plan an average of eight trips per year, with over 30% being 'bleisure' trips—combining business and leisure. This trend is further validated by 'The State of Corporate Travel and Expense 2025 by Navan + Skift,' published by Navan, a U.S.-based corporate travel and expense management platform, and Skift, a travel industry media outlet. The report reveals that 55% of business travelers have taken at least two bleisure trips in the past year, and 73% view bleisure flexibility as an attractive employee benefit. These findings highlight growing demand for travel that effortlessly blends work and leisure.
Supporting this surge in demand, Fortune Business Insights forecasts that the global bleisure travel market will surpass $849 billion (approximately ¥133 trillion) by 2026. Additionally, the overall business travel market is expected to grow to a record $1.69 trillion (approximately ¥266 trillion), expanding opportunities to transform business trips into more fulfilling journeys.
“There is a growing desire among business travelers to extend their stays and enrich their experiences at their destinations,” said Kimberly Wilson, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Corporate at Preferred Hotels & Resorts. “The hotel pairings we’re introducing today naturally connect work and leisure, transforming business trips into richer, more valuable experiences. We want travelers to discover the unique appeal of our properties while making the most of their limited time.”
From Tokyo and Yokohama to São Paulo and San Roque, Preferred Hotels & Resorts is offering 'Business with Balance' hotel pairings that combine key business hubs with appealing nearby destinations.
