Fragrant Rose Festival to be held at Echigo Hillside National Government Park

Echigo Hillside National Government Park (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture) will hold the Fragrant Rose Festival from Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, June 14.

During the festival, numerous rose-related events will take place, including events commemorating the Award of Garden Excellence and cultivation classes.

It is only in early summer that approximately 800 varieties and 2,400 plants bloom all at once.

The Nagaoka Fragrant Rose Garden received the Award of Garden Excellence, certified by the World Federation of Rose Societies, in May of last year. On Friday, May 1 this year, an unveiling ceremony for the award plaque was held, and the plaque is now displayed at the rose garden entrance.

This year, the roses are blooming earlier than last year and are expected to be at their best in time for the "Fragrant Rose Festival."

We will hold a "Morning Open (from 8:00 AM)" (May 23, 24, 30, 31) where you can enjoy the scent of the roses first thing in the morning, and a "Sunset Open (until 8:00 PM)" (May 30, 31, June 6, 7) where you can enjoy the illuminated roses.
