National Alps Azumino Park (Omachi-Matsukawa Area) will host the "World Insect Exhibition" from Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, September 27. The exhibition will feature a giant wall of approximately 1,000 "Morpho butterflies," native to the Amazon River basin in South America, which are said to bring happiness. Insects collected from around the world by Setsuzo Tsukada of the Azumino Insect Research Institute will also be on display. We invite everyone from children to adults to experience the charm of these never-before-seen insects.

In the specimen display, you can see insects from around the world, including stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles, as well as beautiful butterflies and other beetles. Furthermore, thanks to the cooperation of Naotaro, a stag beetle and rhinoceros beetle breeder from Matsukawa Village, live insects will also be exhibited. A quiz rally and sales of stag beetle and rhinoceros beetle merchandise will be held concurrently.

We will teach you how to identify trees and where to look in the outdoors.

Recommended for those who want to catch or raise stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles themselves. We will cover points for searching and identifying trees when collecting, as well as feeding frequency, temperature control, and tips for longevity when breeding.
