Organizations gain centralized visibility across AI prompts, responses, files, activity logs, and workflows.

Customers can extend existing data loss prevention, behavioral risk management, and monitoring/governance capabilities to Claude without deploying a separate AI security stack.

A single control layer governs human and AI activities across endpoints, cloud, email, collaboration tools, and AI applications, including Claude.

Sunnyvale, Calif., May 21, 2026 — Proofpoint, a leading cybersecurity and compliance company, announced that its platform now integrates with the Claude Compliance API. This integration directly extends Proofpoint's data security, data loss prevention (DLP), insider threat management, AI runtime security, and digital communications governance (DCG) capabilities to Claude. It enables enterprises to apply the same level of control they use across their endpoints, email, and cloud environments to their AI-powered workflows.

AI agents currently operate within organizational workflows, accessing sensitive data, collaboration tools, and systems that were previously restricted only to humans. According to Proofpoint's "2026 AI and Human Risk Landscape Report," nearly 90% of global organizations are transitioning AI assistants from the pilot phase to full-scale production, while 42% have already experienced suspicious or confirmed AI-related incidents.

Security programs built around human activity must evolve and expand to include AI activities to capture a complete picture of risk. As organizations deploy Claude at scale, AI agents will read files, draft communications, influence decision-making, and trigger automated workflows. Rather than managing these activities in a separate, AI-specific stack, they must be visualized, governed, and managed accountably within existing security and compliance frameworks.

Mayank Choudhary, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Information Protection, Cloud Security and Compliance Product Group at Proofpoint, stated: "Organizations cannot succeed by operating separate governance models for humans and AI. Humans and AI agents operate in the same workflows, access the same sensitive data, and participate in the same business decisions. What is required is a single control layer. By extending our data security, insider threat management, and communications governance solutions to Claude, customers can now manage AI activities on the same platform they have trusted to protect their entire organization. We are thrilled to integrate with the Claude Compliance API to securely and scalably unify various controls."

Extending Data Security and Insider Threat Management for AI

In the first phase of the integration, conversation content from Claude Enterprise and activity logs from the Claude Platform will be ingested into Proofpoint's data security and insider threat management solutions.

Enterprises can apply their existing classification rules, behavioral risk models, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies to Claude Enterprise prompts, responses, files, projects, and administrative activities, while simultaneously monitoring Claude Platform activity logs. Interactions with AI will be evaluated using the same detection logic that protects endpoint, cloud, and email environments.

This allows organizations to apply consistent data controls, detect anomalous behavior across all human and AI activities, and investigate AI-assisted workflows within the same risk framework already deployed enterprise-wide, without needing to adopt a separate AI security stack.

Embedding Digital Communications Governance into AI Workflows

The second integration extends Proofpoint's Digital Communications Governance (DCG) to Claude Enterprise.

For regulatory oversight and investigations, simply capturing conversation logs is not enough. Enterprises need to understand the context, intent, and
