[Featuring stages by Yoshio Kojima, Sakana-kun, and more!] Free experiential event to find seeds for summer research projects: "Asobi Manabi Kagaku Lab" <Held on 7/19 (Sun) at Tokyo University of Science, Katsushika Campus!>

AERA with Kids, published by Asahi Shimbun Publications (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo), in collaboration with The Asahi Student Newspaper Company and the educational portal site "Kidsnet" operated by Asahi Gakken Synquest, will hold "Asobi Manabi Kagaku Lab," an experiential event to support summer research projects, on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

The venue is the Tokyo University of Science, Katsushika Campus (Katsushika-ku, Tokyo). The stage will feature Yoshio Kojima, popular for his series in the web media "AERA with Kids+," hosting a "Live! Consultation Room." In the AERA with Kids room, families can experience "Animal Shogi," which can be enjoyed even without knowing the rules of Shogi, led by educational advisor Akihiro Shimizu. Additionally, there will be puzzle activities and a sales corner for the "Science Manga Survival" series.

It is the perfect event to kick off summer vacation! We invite all families to participate.

About "Asobi Manabi Kagaku Lab" This is the first joint event hosted by three educational media outlets: "AERA with Kids," "The Asahi Student Newspaper," and "Kidsnet." Under the themes of "Play," "Learning," and "Science," the event gathers experiential content to support children's summer research projects.

In addition to booths featuring experiments and crafts, the event includes stage shows, workshops, and interactive exhibits. It is a large-scale educational event featuring diverse programs that transcend corporate boundaries.

Participating companies include Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Ezaki Glico, Seiko Group, Seven Bank, The Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Japan Expanded Polystyrene Association, and Morinaga & Co., among others. Programs include making original clocks and learning about accounting by running a virtual hamburger shop.

Special guests will appear on the stage program! In the main hall, Yoshio Kojima will host his consultation room, and Sakana-kun, celebrating his 25th anniversary of his series in the Asahi Student Newspaper, will present "Gyogyo! Tell us Sakana-kun 2026." A joint symposium by Tokyo Institute of Science and Tokyo University of Science on "Real Academic Ability in the AI Era" will also be held simultaneously.

Furthermore, the event offers a stamp rally, book sales, and food programs including special menus at the cafeteria and food trucks, allowing families to enjoy the entire day.
