Kyukamura Nyuto-Onsenkyo, located in Towada-Hachimantai National Park, will start selling a special accommodation plan on July 27, 2026, that includes a 'Babahera Ice' scooping experience, a hallmark of Akita's summer.
The highlight of this plan is the opportunity for families to wear the actual aprons and hats used by vendors and practice scooping the ice into its iconic rose shape using a real spatula. The program is limited to three groups per day.
◆ Plan Details - Period: July 27 – Aug 6, Aug 24 – 31, 2026 (Excludes Aug 29) - Rates: 16,000 JPY per adult, 8,000 JPY per elementary student, 4,000 JPY per infant (Includes 1 night, 2 meals, and tax; bathing tax separate) - Feature: Babahera Ice scooping experience with authentic uniforms - Reservation: Required at least 3 days in advance
◆ Dining and Hot Springs The 'Akita Food Buffet' features local specialties such as Kiritanpo-nabe and Yamanoimo-nabe, alongside Hinai Jidori chicken eggs and desserts made from Akita Komachi rice. Guests can also enjoy two types of natural hot springs within the facility or use the 'Yumeguricho' pass (exclusive to guests) to explore other hot springs in the Nyuto Onsen district.
