The conference and festival 'City and Circulation 2026' will be held in the Nijo area of Kyoto for three days from May 14th (Thursday) to 16th (Saturday), 2026. Organized by the 'City and Circulation' Executive Committee (Contact: R Real Estate Co., Ltd.), this event features sessions with international experts on the keyword 'circulation' and a trade fair for businesses. We are pleased to announce the decided lineup of keynote speakers and the timetable.

Keynote Speakers on Architecture, Urbanism, and Kyoto:

- Jan Gehl (Architect, Denmark): Speaker for May 14th. Famous for 'Life Between Buildings' and 'Cities for People,' he will deliver a real-time talk from Copenhagen via online connection, including a Q&A session. - Alastair Parvin (Co-founder of Open Systems Lab / WikiHouse): Speaker for May 15th. WikiHouse is a project based in the UK since the 2010s for an architectural system anyone can assemble like Lego. He will discuss the 'democratization of architecture' online. - Toru Koyamada (President of Kyoto City University of Arts / Artist): Speaker for May 16th. A founding member of 'dumb type,' he has been involved in creating shared spaces such as 'Art-Scape' and 'Bazaar Cafe.' His insights will be vital for the future of the former Kyoto City Child Welfare Center venue.

Timetable Highlights:

Day 1 (May 14th): Morning program 'Future Old Houses - Post City' featuring Masataka Baba (Tokyo R Estate), Yosuke Maeda (WOTA), and Kentaro Kan (Arup). Afternoon sessions include 'Between Craft and Architecture' with artisans Hiroshi Kako and Shuji Nakagawa. Evening keynote by Jan Gehl.
