The Japan Recycle Carpet Association (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Tadachika Kondo) is pleased to announce that Tokyu Land Corporation has joined as a new member, bringing the total number of member companies to 89. The adoption of circular tile carpets is becoming the next standard in the construction and real estate industries, and further widespread adoption is expected in the future. ■ Expansion of Member Companies Tile carpets are widely used in office buildings, commercial facilities, and more. On the other hand, the large amount of waste generated during replacement has been a challenge. The Japan Recycle Carpet Association is promoting initiatives towards the realization of a sustainable society, focusing on the popularization and awareness activities of recycled tile carpets to solve these issues. With the addition of Tokyu Land Corporation, the association now comprises companies that use tile carpets, companies that recycle and re-resource waste tile carpets, and companies that produce recycled tile carpets, creating an association structure where all players involved in the horizontal recycling loop are gathered. The number of member companies has now reached 89, and we will continue to work to expand the movement for implementation and promotion across the entire industry. Comments Mr. Minoru Hirachi, Executive Officer, General Manager of Urban Business Division, Urban Unit, Tokyu Land Corporation We sincerely respect the daily activities of all the association members. We are also truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Japan Recycle Carpet Association and work together with our members towards the realization of a circular economy. As a comprehensive developer, with the slogan "WE ARE GREEN," we have been promoting environmentally conscious businesses, including our pioneering entry into renewable energy projects. Regarding waste generated from renovation work in office buildings and other properties we manage, including carpets, we have actively promoted collection, sorting, and re-sourcing in cooperation with our business partners and tenants. With this participation, we aim to further evolve these initiatives and strive to achieve both the creation of comfortable spaces and the reduction of waste. We look forward to your continued guidance and support.

Tadachika Kondo, Chairman, Japan Recycle Carpet Association Established on November 1, 2023, the association has seen a significant number of companies, 89 in total, empathize with and participate in our activities within approximately two years. This expansion over two years is largely due to the rapid progress in decarbonization and resource circulation efforts being made by various companies. We are pleased to welcome Tokyu Land Corporation, a major developer, to our association. The participation of a major developer signifies that the construction and real estate industries have truly begun to move towards resource circulation. We will continue to deepen cooperation among member companies, work on improving collection schemes and the quality of recycled materials, and aim to promote a sustainable society that "starts from our feet," by continuing to take solid steps forward.
