Dance battle judged by the audience to legendary music: Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026 National Final Japan

Red Bull Japan Co., Ltd. held the national final of the dance battle event "Red Bull Dance Your Style" on July 5 (Sun) at Roppongi Hills Arena. In this event, dancers improvise to music played by a DJ, ranging from the latest hits to timeless classics, and the dancer who most excites the audience is declared the winner. This year marked the first time in Japan for Red Bull Dance Your Style to hold open qualifiers for general dancers in May. A total of 16 dancers competed: 4 winners from the intense qualifiers and 12 top Japanese dancers active worldwide as WILD CARD (invited dancers).

Over 1,400 spectators gathered at the venue that day. Intense battles unfolded to a variety of music, from the latest hits to universally known classics, including "Kakumei Douchuu" by Aina The End, which became a topic of conversation as an anime theme song; Yasuhara's classic "Friday Chinatown," which gained renewed attention in a movie this year following the city pop boom; and "Yoru no Odoriko" by Sakanaction, whose dance videos went viral on social media. The venue was filled with excitement.

While each dancer captivated the audience with their diverse expressions, the finalists were Ringo Winbee, who advanced from the general qualifiers, and Tarzan KIRARA, who has been dedicated to dance since childhood and has won and been a finalist in numerous competitions. Ringo Winbee, who went first, delivered a rhythmic dance that meticulously picked up on the lyrics and rhythm, greatly energizing the venue. Tarzan KIRARA, who went second, showcased his signature powerful and dynamic dance. After a breathtakingly fierce battle where neither contestant gave an inch, Ringo Winbee emerged victorious.

Ringo Winbee has secured a spot in the "Red Bull Dance Your Style World Pre Final" to be held in Zurich, Switzerland in October. Winning that will earn them a spot in the world final, "Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final." Please keep an eye on Ringo Winbee's challenge!

I still can't quite believe I won. I'm so happy because I had such strong feelings about "Red Bull Dance Your Style." Since the qualifiers, I've been aiming for both the Japanese championship and the world title, listening to all sorts of music to the point of loving them, so I could overcome songs and genres I'm not good at.

There were times when my practice didn't lead to results, so today I danced while telling myself I did my best. This was my fourth attempt, so I was truly happy just to make it to the finals. I danced in the finals with the mindset that I could die here. I think I was able to break through my own shell with that intensity.

I want to bet everything on the world competition so that someone who is nobody can win on the world stage and change their life. As Japan's representative, carrying everyone's support, I will definitely win!

In the main competition, RIKI (Masui Riki) from the talented dance boy group BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE, and TAKERU from the 8-member boy group ONE OR EIGHT, who have gained global attention for their remake of the movie insert song "TOKYO DRIFT," also participated. Although they were unfortunately eliminated in the first round, they greatly excited the audience with their aggressive and powerful dances incorporating acrobatics, leaving a strong impact.

2022 World Champion THE D SoraKi Appears! Highly Anticipated EXHIBITION BATTLE Begins!

Before the competition started, an exhibition battle was held featuring a 2-on-2 format: the pair of Red Bull dancer THE D SoraKi, who became the first Japanese person to win the "Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final" in 2022 and is gaining attention both domestically and internationally, and world champion KAZANE, against the pair of hip-hop legend SHINICHI and house super dancer HIRO. All eyes in the venue were on this showdown between legends and rising hopes.

THE D SoraKi & KAZANE won with their dynamic and flavorful dance. The venue's excitement surged before the main competition even began, thanks to the high-level battle by these super dancers.

Rules

A 1-on-1 All-style dance battle where dancers improvise to music played by the DJ. A 16-person tournament format. Each battle consists of 2 moves, with only the final round having 3 moves. The audience at the venue judges based on "rhythm," "skill," "creativity," and "charisma." Winners are decided by red and blue cards (judge tools). The dancer who gathers the most votes wins. A simple yet exciting rule.
