Resonac Corporation and Shiga University signed a partnership agreement on May 28, 2026, aimed at improving technical capabilities and fostering talent in the field of data science. Shiga University, which established Japan's first Faculty of Data Science in 2017, is known for its guidance from top-tier researchers and practitioners. Resonac has maintained a specialized organization for computational science since 2011, and its current Computational Informatics Research Center contributes to accelerating material development, particularly for semiconductors. Under this agreement, the parties aim to integrate Resonac's field-proven data and technical foundation with Shiga University's advanced knowledge to build analytical techniques that contribute to talent development and problem-solving. Resonac has set a goal to ensure 100% of its researchers become 'ambidextrous talent'—individuals possessing both deep expertise in experimental research and computational/data science skills—by 2030.
