Nagahama Distillery, Japan's Smallest, Releases 'AMAHAGAN Whiskey Highball Sherry Cask Blend Can' on June 2

Nagahama Distillery, operated by Nagahama Roman Beer Co., Ltd. (Nagahama, Shiga), Japan's smallest whisky distillery, will launch the 'AMAHAGAN Whiskey Highball Sherry Cask Blend Can 350ml'—the sequel to last April's highball release—on June 2, 2026, in convenience stores nationwide. A limited general release will follow on June 23.

This highball is inspired by the 'AMAHAGAN' series, which focuses on the 'blend,' the most important element of whisky making at Nagahama Distillery. It features a luxurious blend of carefully selected overseas whisky stocks and Nagahama-distilled malt whisky aged in sherry casks. With a touch of domestically produced spirits for accent, it achieves a satisfying mouthfeel and mellow flavor without being monotonous. It features a rich aroma of berries and raisins that spreads as the carbonation pops, paired with the deep, sweet finish characteristic of sherry casks.

The packaging uses a design depicting the reddish scenery of Lake Biwa, symbolizing sherry cask aging. By combining an illustration of the distillery's exterior, the design aims to help you relax at the end of the day, evoking the image of the whisky being crafted by the shores of Lake Biwa.
