mScarlet3 Characteristics and Functions
* mScarlet3 is a monomeric red fluorescent protein with very high brightness, rapid and complete chromophore maturation, and stable red emission, excited by green light (540nm).
* Intrinsic photophysical properties include a quantum yield of approximately 0.75, an extinction coefficient of approximately 104,000 M⁻¹ cm⁻¹, and a single-exponential fluorescence lifetime of approximately 4 ns. *
* By binding with flavin cofactors (FMN/FAD), its fluorescence intensity can be modulated by a magnetic field, with approximately 20% modulation observed in cellular systems.
* Embedding in soft matrices (such as polymers or silk fibroin) improves thermal and photostability.
* When processed as a solid-state coating, it also has the ability to convert light energy into heat (photothermal conversion power generation).
* Do not confuse the intrinsic fluorescence lifetime of mScarlet3 (approx. 4ns) with its practical operating lifetime under LED illumination. OAPs can operate for over 100 hours of illumination while maintaining almost initial emission, depending on the embedded matrix.
