Hosted by the Ministry of the Environment and co-organized by the Satellite Earth Observation Consortium (CONSEO), the seminar titled "The Future of 'GOSAT-GW' TANSO-3 Greenhouse Gas Observation Data Usage: Toward Expanding Business Applications" will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

The global observation of greenhouse gases via the TANSO-3 sensor mounted on the Greenhouse Gases and Water Cycle Observation Technology Satellite "GOSAT-GW," launched in June 2025, is expected not only to contribute to climate change science and policy promotion but also to offer significant business potential.

Furthermore, as corporate interest in decarbonization management and sustainable finance grows, leveraging TANSO-3 data to understand greenhouse gas emissions and reduction effects, or to detect leakages, is expected to advance the "visualization" of efforts toward net-zero both domestically and internationally.

This seminar will feature experts from research, government, financial, and private sectors discussing the latest status of GOSAT-GW/TANSO-3 and the future prospects of observation data usage. Practitioners from fields including insurance, finance, agriculture, satellite data analysis, and data platforms will also join to exchange opinions on expectations and challenges for expanding business applications.
