Background of the Partnership Agreement Conclusion
In 2018, Omu Town set policy goals in its "6th Comprehensive Plan" to build a circular society and conserve the natural environment. In December 2024, the town council declared itself a "Zero Carbon City," announcing its intention to achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050. In March 2025, it formulated the "Action Plan for Preventing Global Warming (Administrative and Business Edition)," setting a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% from fiscal 2013 levels by fiscal 2030. Furthermore, starting in fiscal 2025, it has established a new subsidy system for residential solar power generation to promote the spread of renewable energy.
Approximately 74% of Omu Town's total area is covered by forests, and from the perspective of decarbonization, converting these abundant forest resources into economic value has become an important issue.
Against this backdrop, this partnership agreement was concluded to advance initiatives that link the value of forest resources to economic value, in collaboration with Stellar Green, which possesses expertise and a track record in forest valorization.
