Sony Creative Products Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Ken Ohtake) will hold the 'Heisei Love Exhibition' starting Tuesday, April 7.
This exhibition divides the approximately 30 years of the Heisei era into three categories: 'Early, Mid, and Late,' and expresses the romance of those times through roughly 3,000 items and experiences.
Since visitors can actually pick up and look inside the exhibited items (*1), the feeling of 'those days' is realistically revived by flipping open a flip phone to take a selfie or touching the inside of a purikura (photo sticker) book decorated from corner to corner. Furthermore, the venue is packed with booths where you can actually experience the relatable 'romance' tropes of that era, such as passing notes in a classroom, typing pager messages against a time limit, calling a lover from a landline, leaving messages on a message board, actually decorating a notebook, chatting at a family restaurant, picking out CDs at TSUTAYA, and playing with 'SNOW' facial recognition stamps!
Please come experience 'Heisei Romance,' which has changed its form along with the evolution of communication tools, whether it brings back memories of your own 'good old days' or offers a glimpse into a youth you never personally experienced. (*1: Some exhibits are for viewing only)
