NPO Seibo, which supports school meals in Malawi, has partnered with Kyoto-based electricity provider TERA Energy to launch the 'Oen suru Denki' (Support Electricity) initiative. Under this plan, up to 2.5% of monthly electricity bills are donated to Seibo to fund school meals for children in Malawi. The donation is paid directly by TERA Energy from the existing rates, ensuring zero additional cost or administrative burden for subscribers. TERA Energy prioritizes renewable energy with low greenhouse gas emissions, allowing households to reduce CO2 emissions and support climate action. Switching takes about 10 minutes online with a current utility statement, requires no construction or home visits, and maintains identical power quality. For a typical household, the switch provides dozens of meals monthly, supporting Malawi children's health and education. Seibo has supported Malawi for 10 years via fair trade coffee sales. TERA Energy is a retail electricity provider (Registration A0582) promoting social good. Details and applications are available online.
