Shimomura Livestock and Meat Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Obu City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Satoshi Shimomura) exported "Shimomura Beef," a Japanese Black Wagyu raised at its group's directly managed ranches, to the Philippines in May 2026. This marks the fifth country/region to which our company has exported its products, following Malaysia, Indonesia, the UAE, and Taiwan.
The Philippines is a market where demand for high-quality Japanese food products is expanding, driven by rapid economic growth and an increasing affluent population. The export of Shimomura Beef is not merely an expansion of sales channels, but a new challenge to deliver the wagyu culture and quality cultivated by Japanese producers to the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market. Through shipments to the Philippine market, we hope that Shimomura Beef will grow into a brand loved by local customers and that many people will experience its value.
The Shimomura Livestock Group currently raises approximately 5,000 head of cattle. We are undertaking new initiatives such as the construction of new cattle sheds, aiming to raise 10,000 head by 2030.
Continuing under our company's management philosophy of "Continuously producing safe and delicious beef, providing smiles and vitality to all people," we will expand our exports overseas as well as domestically, and strive together as a group, with our cattle, to bring joy to customers worldwide.
