'Hojin Rachi': New Book by Former JSDF Special Forces Officer Sukeyasu Ito Released June 17

Sukeyasu Ito, a former special forces member whose previous work 'Hojin Dakkan' (Rescue of Japanese Nationals) sold over 70,000 copies, is releasing a new book. Following his previous work, which was based on a serious simulation of rescuing abducted Japanese nationals, this new volume conveys the reality of abductions by North Korea and the 'truth' of the 'Noto Peninsula Mystery Ship Incident' as witnessed on the scene. 'Hojin Rachi: The Birth of the JSDF Special Forces,' expected to be one of the most significant works of the year, will be published by Shinchosha on June 17!

The 'Noto Peninsula Mystery Ship Incident' occurred just before the establishment of the Special Boarding Unit, the JSDF's first special forces unit. The author, who was the navigator of the Aegis-equipped destroyer 'Myoko' that pursued the mystery ship, later became involved in the creation of the special forces. This impactful work conveys the reality of the scene in the form of a novel.
