Under the theme of "The dawn of the 'Hybrid AI' era - Toward the implementation of 'full-stack infrastructure' from servers to platforms," this event will delve into the requirements for IT infrastructure that enterprises should build in the AI era. It features exclusive sessions including case studies by leading companies and industry predictions by prominent experts.

1. The future of digital infrastructure for Japan presented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications ~ Strategies and measures for infrastructure development looking toward 2030 ~

In a period of population decline, maintaining Japan's growth potential while addressing the diversification and complexity of regional and social challenges requires the thorough utilization of digital technologies such as generative AI, which in turn necessitates the development of supporting digital infrastructure. Furthermore, strengthening communication infrastructure is crucial for preparedness against future disasters.

To address these challenges, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications formulated the 'Digital Infrastructure Development Plan 2030' in June 2025. This plan looks ahead to around 2030, organizing the necessary policies and specific promotional measures to comprehensively and efficiently drive the development of Japan's digital infrastructure.

This session will introduce the latest information on the ministry's initiatives based on the plan. Topics include the regional decentralization of data centers through watt-bit coordination as new digital infrastructure in the AI era, the next-generation information and communication infrastructure (Beyond 5G) centered on all-photonics networks, the elimination of areas lacking fiber optics, the expansion of high-quality communication services providing a tangible '5G experience,' and support for the deployment of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN).

As the use of generative AI expands, establishing both an AI-specialized platform and an internal development structure to quickly advance development on it are crucial for continuously and safely integrating AI agents into business operations. Mizuho Financial Group has been designing and developing 'Wiz Base,' an AI agent platform built on AWS, adopting a multi-LLM configuration using Amazon Bedrock while addressing the strict requirements demanded of financial institutions, such as security, auditability, and authority control. Concurrently, the in-house development lab agilely develops AI applications and agents rooted in business operations on Wiz Base, leading to their practical application in the field. This presentation will introduce the practical steps for embedding AI usage in the field through the process of conceptualizing and building Wiz Base, as well as the agile development approach and specific initiatives by the internal development lab.
