Author's Comment on Release

My new book, "Fire Dome," is finally released.

Four years for serialization, three years for revision.

I am sending it out to you all after seven years of effort.

The theme and protagonist of the story is "rumor."

Even during the seven years I was preparing this novel, many incidents occurred in reality, and I constantly felt a sense of resonance and fluctuation between the world of rumors depicted in the novel and reality.

That incident that happened in the past, and the incident that might happen tomorrow.

I would be honored if you felt this novel accurately depicts "the present."

And for that very reason, I send it out with the wish that you will "read it now."

Thank you very much.

Synopsis

People choose more interesting stories over the truth.

She was consumed by the "rumor," a burning flame.

One summer 25 years ago, a provincial town that should have been peaceful was shaken by the occurrence and reporting of a kidnapping and murder case at a department store. A torrent of "rumors," like a massive fire, rained down and blazed. The lingering grudges in the town, which seemed to have finally regained its tranquility, now awaken a new incident—

"They're already saying it! That your parents killed them, right?"

She flinched at the words, intimidated.

Her eyes widened, and she stared at Eri. The daughter, looking back at Chuji with red eyes, was not crying.

"They're already saying it! I know! It's strange that this house has to go through this twice, everyone says there must be something wrong with the parents or family."
