Debuted on June 5, 2004, after winning the 31st Mephisto Prize for "Reitō Kōsha no Toki wa Tomaru." In 2011, she received the 32nd Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for New Writers for "Tsunagu," and in 2012, she won the 147th Naoki Prize for "Kagi no Nai Yume o Miru." In 2018, "Kagami no Kojō" won the 1st place in the 15th Hon'ya Taisho (Booksellers Award). Her numerous works include "Tōri no Kujira," "Boku no Major Spoon," "Asa ga Kuru," "Gōman to Zenryō," "Kohaku no Natsu," "Yamiharai," "Usotsuki Jen-ga," and "Kono Natsu no Hoshi o Miru."
