Social Background: UV levels increase from early spring, requiring early countermeasures
Due to recent extreme heat, the number of emergency transports due to heatstroke has been increasing. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced that the number of people transported in 2025 reached 100,510, the highest since records began (*1). With severe heat expected again this year, early heat countermeasures are required for outdoor activities. Furthermore, according to observation data from the Ministry of the Environment, UV levels increase from early spring, with June to August being the strongest period of the year (*2). UV rays are already strong during the period when sports tournaments and club activities are in full swing, making early seasonal UV protection necessary.
In addition, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare calls for 'heat avoidance measures' such as using shade and parasols to prevent heatstroke outdoors (*3). In an environment where risks from both heat and UV rays are increasing, the importance of measures that directly reduce the burden on the body, such as 'creating shade' and 'blocking UV rays', is becoming even more critical.
