[Event Report] Siroca Hosts Product Launch for Automatic Cooking Pot 'Ouchi Chef Cooker' with Dentist Tomoyuki Goto

Siroca, based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hosted a launch event on Friday, May 22, 2026, for its automatic cooking pot 'Ouchi Chef Cooker,' scheduled to be released progressively from late May to mid-June.

The 'Ouchi Chef Cooker' is not only a time-saver for daily cooking but also excels at preparing 'soft food' (care food). Developed with the goal of reducing the burden of care food preparation, the recipes aim for a balance where the food is soft enough for the elderly while retaining texture, appearance, and taste, ensuring that all family members can enjoy the same meals without feeling out of place.

At the event, in addition to a product demonstration by the development team, a special lecture was delivered by dentist and author Tomoyuki Goto. Focusing on the 'dignity of eating'—his core activity of supporting people to eat orally until the end—Mr. Goto spoke on the theme 'What you eat is how you live,' sharing techniques to support elderly nutrition.

About Tomoyuki Goto: A dentist and author born in Hiroshima, he is the representative of Fureai Dental Goto and the Shinjuku Eating Support Association. Since 1997, he has engaged in home-visit dental care and is a leading expert in community 'eating support,' spreading activities like interdisciplinary oral care.

Special Lecture: 'What you eat is how you live': Mr. Goto pointed out that the inability to eat orally is caused not only by illness but also by aging and sarcopenia due to inactivity. He emphasized that three conditions are essential for elderly nutrition: 'stimulating the five senses,' 'food texture matched to chewing ability,' and 'high nutritional value.' He stated that visual elements significantly affect the desire to eat and concluded that 'chewing' should be maintained as much as possible.

He also proposed using home appliances like 'automatic cooking pots' and 'blenders' to support elderly dietary needs at home. 'Building a "win-win" relationship where both the person and the family are happy is the key to sustainable dietary life, which leads to supporting the dignity of eating,' he said.
