SmartDrive Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Retsu Kitagawa), a provider of mobility data services, announced that it will change the name of 'SmartDrive Fleet Basic' to 'SmartDrive Alcohol Check' effective Monday, June 1, 2026.
Since the mandatory use of alcohol detectors was implemented in December 2023, the company has been expanding the features and compatible devices of its 'SmartDrive Fleet' series to alleviate the significant burden placed on safety managers and employees. By providing plans tailored to customer needs, the company has successfully supported legal compliance and smooth operations.
'SmartDrive Fleet Basic' is a service that allows for the centralized cloud management of alcohol check records, daily operation reports, pre-ride inspections, and vehicle reservations. Given its widespread adoption, the company decided to rename the service to make its purpose more explicit. This change is intended to strengthen outreach to businesses struggling with alcohol check management and to enhance brand recognition.
Even two years after the regulation took effect, many businesses still face challenges in operational consistency. With this rebranding, the company plans to continue improving its services to further contribute to corporate safe driving management.
