(President and CEO: Koji Ishikawa, hereinafter "Sompo Japan") is pleased to announce that it has concluded a "Cooperation Agreement on Improving Regional Disaster Preparedness" with Numazu City (Mayor: Shuichi Raishige) on March 23, 2026, with the aim of further enhancing regional disaster preparedness.

1. Background and Progress As an insurance company that supports the safe, secure, and healthy lives of its customers, Sompo Japan has leveraged its expertise in supporting the stable prosperity of communities and industries and ensuring secure living, and proposed a cooperation agreement to Numazu City to contribute to the improvement of citizen services and regional revitalization. This has led to the conclusion of the current agreement.

2. Purpose of the Agreement Sompo Japan and Numazu City will cooperate in raising disaster awareness among citizens during normal times and in responding to disasters, aiming to improve Numazu City's regional disaster preparedness.

3. Main Contents of the Agreement We will cooperate in the following areas: (1) Cooperation during normal times ① Provision and utilization of Sompo Japan's knowledge regarding disasters. ② Provision and utilization of Sompo Japan's collapse risk diagnosis app. ③ Cooperation in disaster drills, disaster prevention lectures, etc., and provision of equipment and materials. ④ Promotion of citizen awareness of hazard maps, etc.

(2) Cooperation during disaster occurrence ① Cooperation in the issuance of disaster victim certificates. ② Implementation of disaster response and recovery measures utilizing Sompo Japan's equipment (drones, etc.). ③ Estimation and utilization of disaster scale based on Sompo Japan's expertise in disaster payments. ④ Implementation of disaster response and recovery measures in cooperation with Sompo Japan's corporate network.

4. Future Outlook Sompo Japan will continue to support regional revitalization and contribute to Numazu City in cooperation with the city.
