Sony Bank (President: Keiji Minami / Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) announces that it has supported the 'Kinunan Smile Project Connecting Through Flowers,' a project led by 157 6th graders at Setagaya Ward Kinaminami Elementary School (Principal: Atsuko Minegishi) to deliver flowers to local residents and facilities, through the donation of goods.
In November 2025, Sony Bank conducted a 'GIVING for FUTURE' financial education class for the students (then 5th graders) themed on 'how to use money for the benefit of others.' Students brainstormed ideas for 'what they want to support for the sake of the town,' and driven by the desire to 'beautify the town with flowers,' the initiative moved forward.
The 6th graders formed five departments, including a gardening department, and worked proactively from flower selection to distribution. Sony Bank supported the project by providing materials such as seeds and fertilizer.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the 6th graders visited 35 local facilities near the school in class groups and personally delivered the flowers they had grown themselves.
