SPACECOOL Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masahiro Suemitsu; hereinafter "the Company"), which develops and sells radiative cooling materials that achieve zero-energy cooling by releasing heat into outer space, was selected on May 19, 2026, as one of the 33 finalists for the "2026 WIPO Global Awards" organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The WIPO Global Awards recognize startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that combine robust intellectual property (IP) strategies with exceptional innovation and creativity to drive business growth and contribute positively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year saw a record-breaking number of entries, with over 1,300 applications from 126 countries.
Finalists were evaluated based on the strength of their business models and IP portfolios, IP commercialization strategies, internal IP culture, and potential to create a positive social impact in line with the SDGs. Through its efforts in the climate tech field and its IP strategy, the Company is accelerating the social implementation of zero-energy cooling technology, contributing to both climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy conservation, CO2 emission reduction, and the improvement of urban thermal environments.

From these 33 finalists, 11 award-winning companies will be selected and announced during the "WIPO Global Awards Ceremony" held in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 10, 2026, during the WIPO Assemblies.
