The New Social System Research Institute (SSK) will hold a two-part seminar titled "Learning Capacity, Supply-Demand Balancing, and Simultaneous Markets from Scratch." The second session will be led by Ken Ichimura, CEO of Energy Pool Japan, on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

This lecture will revisit the essence of the electricity business to explain the background of power system reforms, recent geopolitical risks, and the mechanisms and interrelationships of capacity markets, supply-demand balancing markets, and the contemplated simultaneous market, all with a focus on ensuring stable supply.

Mr. Ichimura, the lecturer, was involved in drafting the Basic Act on Energy Policy and currently serves on various deliberation committees for the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO), placing him at the forefront of policy design.
