SSK and Red Feather join forces for 'NPB Mother's Day 2026' charity auction to support single-parent families

In the 'NPB Mother's Day 2026' event, professional baseball players used pink bats and gloves, and the entire professional baseball industry came together to celebrate Mother's Day. SSK (Es-Es-Key) will host a charity auction on 'Spo-Oku' from May 29th to June 7th, featuring the pink gear used by 23 advisory staff players. All proceeds will be used for support activities for single-parent families.

Donating all proceeds to the Red Feather Community Chest In 2021, the 'NPB Mother's Day' event was held for the first time, with players using pink wristbands and bats to coincide with Mother's Day. Advisory staff members at SSK suggested, 'We would like to effectively utilize the baseball equipment used in the Mother's Day event games for charity to show appreciation to mothers.' With the support of contracted players and each baseball team, the company began a charity auction utilizing Mother's Day goods in 2022.

This marks the 5th annual charity auction for Mother's Day. Pink, Mother's Day-edition baseball equipment worn in the May 10th 'NPB Mother's Day 2026' game, signed by the players, will be listed on the official sports team auction site, 'Spo-Oku.' This time, a total of 23 players from 9 teams are participating, including Ryutaro Umeno of the Hanshin Tigers, Go Matsumoto of the Yomiuri Giants, and Aiya Nishikawa of the Saitama Seibu Lions.

Single-parent families, such as single mothers, often face severe economic and mental difficulties and tend to become isolated because they have no one to rely on. To support these families, various non-profit organizations in the region are conducting consultation activities, employment assistance, emergency food distribution, and other living support services, as well as providing safe places and carrying out awareness campaigns to promote social understanding. SSK will donate all proceeds from this charity auction to the 'Red Feather Community Chest.' The funds will be used for support activities for single-parent families through the local Community Chest associations in each prefecture where the participating players' teams are located.

Participating players and equipment listed Items worn by players, such as spikes, bats, catcher's equipment, gloves, and guards, signed by each player, will be auctioned. The equipment listed varies by player.
