Starbucks Coffee Japan, Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa, Tokyo; CEO: Hisae Morii) is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the project 'WHY NOT COFFEE?' On May 27, 2026, the company will launch its second phase: 'Banana Affogato Frappuccino®,' themed around a 'melting escape' from daily stress.

A Blend of Creamy Banana and Aromatic Coffee The 'Banana Affogato Frappuccino®' replicates the taste of an affogato by layering the natural sweetness of banana pulp with the fragrance of coffee reminiscent of burnt caramel. The drink starts with a base of 'Mottainai Banana' pulp at the bottom, followed by milk blended with banana powder and a cream base. An espresso sauce—made from espresso shots and classic syrup—is then added. This combination creates a harmonious balance between rich banana sweetness and the savory aroma of espresso.

Utilizing Upcycled 'Mottainai Banana' This product uses 'Mottainai Banana,' fruit that is perfectly delicious but was previously discarded as 'non-standard' due to skin blemishes or size. By utilizing these bananas as ingredients, Starbucks delivers natural bounty without waste.
