Due to the heavy rainfall on June 25, 2026, certain areas of Kaohsiung City experienced road flooding caused by intense short-duration downpours, resulting in some residents' vehicles being submerged and damaged. The Kaohsiung City Government Water Resources Bureau announced that, to assist affected citizens in reducing their losses, the municipal government has initiated a relief program for flooded vehicles. Applications will be accepted from June 29, 2026, to July 31, 2026. The bureau urges eligible citizens to promptly prepare the necessary documents and submit their applications to the district office in the area where the vehicle was flooded, in order to protect their rights.

The Water Resources Bureau stated that the relief program targets individuals whose cars or motorcycles were damaged due to submersion during the June 25 heavy rains. The relief amount is up to NT$20,000 for cars and up to NT$2,000 for motorcycles. Applicants must prepare the application form, identification documents, vehicle registration, photos showing the flooded vehicle, invoices, receipts, or repair shop proof, as well as bank account information for remittance. Applications should be submitted to the district office responsible for the area where the flooding occurred, which will handle acceptance and review.

The bureau reminds the public that after a vehicle has been flooded, it is essential to immediately take photos to document the damage and carefully preserve all related documents, such as invoices, receipts, and proof of repairs, scrapping, or resale. These will serve as critical evidence for the relief application and review process. Eligible individuals are strongly advised to complete their applications by July 31 to avoid missing the deadline and losing their rights.
