Due to the extensive outer circulation of Typhoon Bavi, which is expected to bring prolonged heavy rainfall and a significant rise in river water levels, New Taipei City's high-area riverbank parking lots will begin restricting vehicle access starting tomorrow (July 10) at 5:30 AM, allowing vehicles to exit only. From 10:00 AM onward, any vehicles remaining in the riverbank parking areas will be forcibly towed. Parking has already been opened tonight (July 9) across all yellow-line and red-line zones citywide, as well as at 174 schools (details at https://gov.tw/4dT). The Water Resources Bureau urges citizens to move their vehicles out of the riverbank areas as soon as possible. Additionally, all cross-gates and over-levee passages across the city will begin exit-only access at 11:00 AM on July 10 and will be fully closed by 12:00 PM. The New Taipei City Government Water Resources Bureau once again urges the public to avoid entering riverside parks along the Xindian Creek, Dahan Creek, Erchong Floodway, and Tamsui River during the typhoon period to prevent potential dangers.
