The 115th annual grassroots construction supervision under New Taipei City's mobile governance initiative took place today (9th) in Jinshan and Wanli Districts. Mayor Hou You-ih began by attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the 'National Taiwan University Hospital Jinshan Branch Long-Term Care and Medical Comprehensive Building' project. He then led a city government team to inspect the 'Maleng Creek Zhongfu Bridge to Zhongfu Bridge Bank Improvement Project,' engaging directly with local village chiefs to assess grassroots infrastructure needs. In light of Typhoon Bavi's approach, Hou emphasized that district offices must thoroughly prepare for typhoon response to safeguard citizens' safety.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Hou expressed gratitude to NTU Hospital Jinshan Branch for its long-standing commitment to providing medical care to residents of Jinshan, Wanli, and Shimen. To expand healthcare capacity along the northern coast, the city government and NTU Hospital jointly advanced the construction of the 'Long-Term Care and Medical Comprehensive Building.' Upon completion, the facility will add residential long-term care spaces and expand rehabilitation and medical services, delivering higher-quality healthcare to northern coastal communities.

Hou stressed that rural healthcare cannot rely solely on local health centers; it requires collaboration between major medical institutions and the city government. Moving forward, the city will continue implementing rural healthcare subsidies and advancing medical infrastructure to ensure residents have access to more comprehensive medical resources.

Subsequently, Hou visited the Yuao Shuntian Temple to pay respects, thanking Mazu for protecting the safety of local fishermen and supporting the smooth development of regional tourism, leisure, and fisheries. With Typhoon Bavi approaching, Hou prayed for favorable weather and national peace, reiterating the city government's full commitment to typhoon preparedness and citizen safety.

Hou then inspected the 'Maleng Creek Zhongfu Bridge to Zhongfu Bridge Bank Improvement Project' in Wanli. He noted that Typhoon Bavi is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall. Given the damage caused by previous Typhoon Shanshan in Jinshan and Wanli, he specifically inspected flood control preparations and river dredging status at Yütan Creek and Maleng Creek to minimize typhoon-related disasters.

The Water Resources Agency stated that the Maleng Creek bank improvement project is scheduled for partial opening in October 115 and full completion by June 116. In addition to reinforcing riverbank protection, the project will introduce a 900-meter riverside walkway and three node parks, featuring Wanjin rhododendron plantings, fitness facilities, and nighttime lighting. This will enhance tourism experiences and stimulate local economic development.

During the mobile governance forum, Hou thanked village chiefs and local legislators for their support in advancing municipal projects. He affirmed that ongoing projects will be continuously monitored by the Civil Affairs Bureau, district offices, and the Research, Evaluation, and Audit Commission to ensure uninterrupted progress in local development, building a safe and prosperous city for all residents.
