The intervals may be further adjusted dynamically based on passenger demand and weather conditions. Additionally, the 'Jie Wu 103' space at Jiuse Station will be temporarily closed to the public. Taichung Metro stated that, in anticipation of strong winds and heavy rains brought by the typhoon, the company has fully activated its typhoon preparedness mechanisms. The Operations Control Center will continuously monitor wind speeds and operational conditions 24/7. Station and maintenance personnel will strengthen inspections of stations, trains, and all facilities, heightening alert levels and implementing appropriate emergency measures as needed to ensure passenger and train safety.
The company explained that when the average wind speed reaches level 7, trains will reduce speed to 40 km/h. When the average wind speed reaches level 8, or gusts reach level 10, train operations will be suspended. Operations will resume only after wind speeds drop below average level 8 and gusts below level 10 for a continuous period of two hours, followed by immediate track inspections to confirm safety.
