In response to the approaching Typhoon Bavi, Miaoli County has activated its Typhoon Disaster Response Center at Level 1. On July 10, Miaoli County Magistrate Chung Tung-kun chaired a typhoon preparedness meeting, reporting the county's current situation to central authorities and coordinating with 18 township and city offices to ensure comprehensive typhoon preparedness. Special attention was directed to Sanyi and Yuanli, areas prone to landslides, with instructions for local offices to continuously monitor conditions and conduct preemptive evacuations. Magistrate Chung expressed hope for a disaster-free Miaoli and urged residents to use the typhoon holiday on the 10th to complete their preparedness measures, reminding them to call emergency hotline 119 or 1999 if needed.

On the same day, the central government convened a disaster response coordination meeting via video conference with local governments. Magistrate Chung reported that relevant departments are closely monitoring high-risk landslide areas within the county and have completed all necessary preparations. The county's Health Bureau is currently managing 1,366 chronic disease patients with preventive measures in place. Drainage channels in flood-prone areas have been cleared, and 88 large-scale pumps have been deployed across the county.

President Lai Qingde commended the county team for their hard work and inquired whether any central support was required.

Miaoli County then held its first coordination meeting with all 18 township and city offices. Magistrate Chung closely monitored local conditions and instructed the Tongxiao Township Office to monitor illegal earth and stone storage sites and report any changes immediately. Yuanli, Sanyi, and Dahu proposed enhanced typhoon protection measures for road construction and landslide prevention. The magistrate urged continuous oversight and immediate action by relevant departments.

Magistrate Chung expressed gratitude to all participating units and township offices for their united efforts in disaster prevention, emphasizing the joint mission to protect residents' lives and property. During the typhoon period, the following key directives were issued:
