A new 'Trump-branded landmark' has emerged in the United States. The Palm Beach International Airport (Palm Beach International Airport), a key tourist gateway in southern Florida, officially announced on April 10 that it has completed legal procedures and immediately changed its official name to 'The President Donald J. Trump International Airport'.

According to local media, to expedite this change, the Florida state government allocated up to $5.5 million (approximately NT$176 million) from its local budget, deploying crews overnight to replace signage inside and outside the terminals, gate displays, and official website icons.

The first passenger aircraft to land at the newly renamed airport was naturally linked to Trump. Eric Trump, the president's second son, personally flew in on the family's private Boeing 757 jet, featuring the signature black-and-red livery, arriving at the airport at 5 a.m. to become the 'de facto inaugural flight' of the President Trump Airport.

Eric later proudly boasted on social media, 'From now on, every time I board a plane, I’ll see my father’s initials “DJT” printed on my boarding pass—I will feel incredibly proud!'

Upon learning of the airport’s renaming, Trump himself posted on his social platform Truth Social, using his signature 'Trump-style' rhetoric to praise the airport and local government: 'A great day for Palm Beach, Florida! This airport was renamed following a vote. This place is now hotter than ever—thank you to everyone in Palm Beach for your trust and votes!'

The driving force behind this renaming is Ron DeSantis, Florida’s current governor, who strongly signed a special bill earlier this year to legalize the renaming process.

However, when local Florida media interviewed several travelers at the scene, many expressed skepticism about renaming the airport after Trump, calling the costly and labor-intensive policy merely a smokescreen to divert attention from major national issues. Yet, Florida’s conservative base holds a different view.

Alongside the Florida airport’s rebranding, a high-profile naming ceremony was simultaneously held for a bridge on Interstate 40 (I-40) in Dandridge, Tennessee. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, along with federal senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, personally attended the ribbon-cutting, officially naming this transportation hub the 'Donald J. Trump Bridge'.

At the bridge’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, Bessent addressed the local community, which delivered Trump an 82% vote share in the 2024 election, stating that the current president made significant historical contributions to America’s economic sovereignty: 'No one is more deserving of this bridge’s naming honor than him!'
